RECOVERY AND LOTS OF IT

Sunday and Monday: Took both days completely off to recover from Cali 70.3. Went to Team Zoot camp to learn about all the products that we will be using this year. It was fun meeting all the other athletes on the team and I look forward to seeing some of them at the races this year.

Tuesday: EZ swim on my own. Hour easy spin on the bike. Started my 3rd session of coaching Swim 101 which is going strong.

Wednesday: 3k swim at UT with Drop Outs as the main set. Not really what I was looking for on my recovery week, but actually pulled off a decent swim (probably because I was rested!).

Thursday: EZ swim at Barton. 1:50 ride with some tempo intervals in there.

Friday: 50 minute ride on Computrainer. Coached in the rain all morning. Was going to run but I was feeling blah so decided to move my run to Sunday instead.

Saturday: 2:45 ride. Started with the ATC ride and finished on my own. Ended up staying with the front pack on the group ride. It was my first ride on my new Scott Contessa bike and it was smooth. Did a 25 minute transition run. Core and open water swim in the afternoon. Watched 'American Gangster' which was a pretty good flick.

Sunday: Coached Ironchicks in the morning. Ran 45 minutes in the afternoon which felt REALLY bad. Church and watched another movie ('Dan in Real Life') to finish off the evening. I must say that Steve Carell is one funny guy.

Back to regular training this week with another 1/2 Ironman on the weekend. May be a dumb idea to race another 1/2 Ironman 2 weeks apart, but I love to race and that's what I'm going to do.
